Mark Thompson

Mark was elected to the chamber board in 2004 and served on the board until 2011.  Mark was Vice President from 2006 – 2011

Mark (along with Roman) instigated Thommo and Dechos Christmas BBQ for the Homeless – now our annual Parramatta Mission Christmas BBQ for the Homeless.  Mark has attended and cooked at all the BBQ’s and donates all the steaks and sausages to feed over 200 people at each event.  Over the years, this would amount to meals for over 2500 people

Mark is on our Business Helping Hands Golf Committee and is the main driver for our Annual Golf Day.  Mark’s Business sponsors our $10,000 Hole in One at this event. In this capacity, we estimate the chamber has been able to donate over $100,000 to local charities through Mark’s efforts.

Mark has been a quiet achiever who has never sought thanks or recognition for his charitable works and has continued to be an active member supporting the chamber, business community and local community even though no longer on the board.

I would like to thank Mark and acknowledge the chamber’s appreciation of his contribution to Parramatta over many years.
