Perseverance Pays
Probably
the most noted thing about Parramatta in Sydney's consciousness recently is
that the Eels have suffered two agonising losses on the trot. They did
everything right it would seem but were denied success; the other team won. Of
course they will back up and play on - they are professionals and paid to do a
job. It will be business as usual this week as they go about their business.
No less
applies to businesses, small or large; there's no guarantee of a fairy tale
ending in any endeavour. But like football teams, no matter the
disappointments, the business rolls on. It must. Business owners too are
professionals, paid to do a job and like football teams, the disappointments,
no matter how agonizing, only make success all the sweeter.
The
Chamber launched the Western Sydney Awards for Business Excellence last week at
the beautiful Waterview in Bi-Centennial Park and featured three former
winners, all of whom experienced disappointments along the way to their well
earned success. Every year these Awards produce winners and finalists who have
overcome setbacks on the way to success by continuing to back up again and
again, just like a football team has to do.
