Parramatta Springs to life
Spring,
the season of fetes and festivals is upon us as schools, churches and charities
bring their communities together for
good causes, now weather permits. It is a time of new energy and refreshment
after what has been for Parramatta, in a football sense at least, a winter of
discontent.
There is a sense of challenge moving into
winter; a challenge of "getting through" as there is with difficult economic
times. Having "come through", as the Australian economy has largely done
through recent global crises, survival gives rise to growth; the replenishment
of depleted resources, the resurgence of old businesses, the establishment of
new businesses.
The
Parramatta Chamber of Commerce will be putting all of Western Sydney Business
on display this spring through the Western Sydney Awards in Business
Excellence. Stories of continued growth, new growth, longevity and the simple,
amazing ways in which these have been achieved by business owners and operators
will all unfold at a gala event on the 13th of October.
Of
course, the awards are competitive, as is business but this is more, so much
more than a competition. It is also, perhaps even more so, a celebration; a
celebration of diligence and durability. A competition with winners, but no
losers.
