Government and Awards spotlight Western Sydney
Since
the last state election the spotlight has certainly been on Western Sydney. Premier Barry O'Farrell also appointed himself
minister for Western Sydney and keeping faith with his campaign promises for
the West including a review of the Planning Act, land releases, the Jobs Action
Plan, widening the M5 and expanding the
Sydney Festival into Parramatta.
Mr.
O'Farrell recently delivered his state of the region address at WatervieW in
Bi-Centennial Park, where the Western Sydney Awards in Business Excellence gala
night will be held on 13 October. With the assistance of the State Government
these Awards, hosted by the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce will also bring
Western Sydney into focus.
Parramatta
is at the demographic epicentre of Sydney and the ideal place to auspice
prestigious business awards for the thriving west. The State government has
been generous in its support for these awards, which will showcase just why
Western Sydney is so important to the economy of the State and the nation.
Government
policy is essential to the performance and growth prospects of any region, but
all that progress is achieved by people; hard at work in business.
These
awards are about those people - and their amazing stories of achievement.
