Parramatta Chamber - Charity Golf Day 2011

Business Helping Hand raises much needed funds for Charity

On a crisp Tuesday morning, 10^th May 2011, over 100 golfers and supporters braved the cold to come and help raise funds for the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce Golf day at Oatlands Golf Club. It was a welcome break from the office to be able to spend a day out in the fresh air and raise money for a worthy cause. Local businesses and Golf Day event major sponsor, Bank of Queensland North Parramatta came out in full force to support this event.

The Chamber, although focused on the health and prosperity of the business community, has a long history of charitable support. For the past 15 years, the Chamber has held the Golf Day to assist local charities in the Greater Western Region.

This year, the major recipient was "SHINE for Kids" which is an organization which was founded in March 1982. This charity provides advocacy and various other services for the children of imprisoned parents and their families

The generosity of members and supporters of the Chamber will assist "SHINE for Kids" to continue providing essential programs and service delivery to supporting children and their families to overcome adversities, build resilience and a better future.
