Aussie Christmas BBQ for the Homeless

On Thursday 15^th December 2011 our President Trevor Oldfield AM, together with Past President Roman Dechnicz, joined other members of the board and members of the Parramatta Chamber of Commerce and served steaks, sausages and salad - an Aussie Christmas barbeque for the homeless at Parramatta Mission's Meals Plus for 200 people

Seven years ago Immediate Past President Roman Dechnicz suggested that instead of treating ourselves to a Christmas feast why don't we feed those that are more in need and so "Business Helping Hands Aussie Christmas BBQ" was born.

For seven years Chamber members have been very generous in donating time, cash and food for the barbeque and this year has seen our biggest response yet. In these tough economic times it is inspiring to see so many businesses prepared to support those in need.

Thank you to Mark Thompson, Professional Insurance Brokers for providing the steaks , and other members and Parramatta businesses who provided salads, bread rolls, desserts and soft drinks  and volunteered their time to assist with the cooking and the serving. including:-
