This V8 supercar event must be deemed as the most significant event we have had since the 2000 Olympics.  With the expectation of 15,000 interstate and national visitors, Western Sydney will see a much needed boost to our economy.  In fact it is estimated that we will enjoy an additional injection of 100mil dollars over the next 5 years and an increase of 110 new jobs per year alone.  

I am pleased to advise the businesses of Parramatta are already enjoying the benefits of this prestigious event.  Most hotels are full to capacity and are boasting a 200% increase in occupancy over this period last year.  Bookings for our local restaurants are increasing daily as we move towards the weekend. 

We as a chamber have no doubt the decision of the State Government to bring V8 supercars to our doorstep is seen as a savour for many local businesses and significant in our endeavours to market the range of offerings we have in Western Sydney.
