Chamber Executive
Officer Honoured
Last week
the Chamber's long-serving Executive Officer Paula Roden was recognised for her
outstanding dedication to the highest quality of workmanship by Rotary with the
presentation of their Pride of Workmanship Award.
Pride
of Workmanship is an approved Rotary project instigated in 1975 by the Rotary
Club of Pennant Hills. The Pride of
Workmanship Program enables managers in our society to help employees achieve
the goal of job satisfaction, and publicly recognize them for their efforts.
For over 18
years Paula has worked for the Chamber firstly as Chamber Secretary and now as
its Executive Officer. For those years she has been known and acknowledged as
the "Face of the Chamber". A tireless and devoted worker who carries out of her
duties above and beyond what is set out in her job description. Meticulous in her approach to her
work, taking pride in what she does whilst at the same time being a sound
supporter of the needs and wants of the business community and a truly worthy
recipient of the Pride of Workmanship Award
Upon being
notified of the Award, Paula said, "It is indeed an honour to be recognised by
your employer for something that you feel is ‘just what you do'.
I enjoy
working in Parramatta and for the people of Parramatta especially
when the Chamber is involved in fundraising and support for the needy such as
our Aussie Christmas BBQ for the homeless. It makes everything more
worthwhile."
Paula has
indeed been the mainsail of the Chamber for all these years. Her dedication,
loyalty, persistence and plain hard work have made a significant contribution
to the Chamber's continued success and relevance.
The Chamber
also congratulates Rotary for putting on these fine awards which give much
needed recognition to those in our community who quietly work behind the scenes
turning good ideas into reality.
